I am not a "Type A" personality. I tend to like working behind the scenes doing the busy work. I'm not an in your face person either. I don't have any problem speaking in front of a group (if I know my subject matter), and I enjoy making new friends. However, I am a strong reflective type of person, an introvert and I need a lot of recovery time after a being around a gathering of people.
My sister and I threw our mom a big 60th birthday party. I knew beforehand that I was going to need to have a quiet weekend at home. I knew that I was going to need to find times during the party to just sit and be still. But, I also knew that God was strengthening me for what I needed to do.
He promises us that He is always with us. We don't need to be afraid because He is true to His word, and is with us always. He also promises to strengthen us and help us. I love the visual I get when I read "I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand." Wow! Can you just imagine the strength that is in that hand? It makes me think of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. If you haven't seen that movie, here is to what I'm referring. The Winter Soldier is the Captain's best friend, but he has been brain washed and surgically altered with a steel arm that can punch through concrete. It's quite strong.
I can just see God's righteous right hand, holding on to us through out our days here. Like a little kid that might try to run out, He grabs on like a parent and holds tight so nothing happens. He strengthens us through His help. He is always with us, so our fear can subside. I love this promise from God today. I love that I can rest in His promise to always be with me and strengthen me. I hope you can find rest in that promise, too.
